Founded by Aliaune "Akon" Thiam, the Konfidence Foundation is dedicated to increasing public awareness of the conditions in Africa and providing underprivileged African youth with access to learning and recreational environments equipped with modern technology, educational materials, recreational resources, and health and wellness services.
Our vision is that the Foundation's concentrated efforts in Senegal will one day serve as the international platform to empower individuals, communities, and nations with the tools needed to build the Africa of tomorrow.

Akon Repairs Damaged Elementary School in Dakar, Senegal. "Believe In the Future of Africa!"
Over One Thousand text books were handed out to young students after their school was rebuilt by the wonderful people assisting Akon in Dakar, Senegal West Africa. Pictured to the left is Aliaune "Akon" Thiam, who is Chairman/Founder of Konfidence Foundation, helping to distribute some of the children's school supplies to the elementary schools' teachers after the construction had been completed. For those who don't know what it is, Konfidence is an organization focused on raising the awareness and the confidence of our youth in Africa so that they can create a better future for the continent. What we're doing is we're having annual concerts to raise money to help rebuild schools, hospitals and to help rebuild Africa in general. Akon performs at Live Earth Concert on 7/7/07 Giant Stadium New York/NJ
Saturday, July 7, was a day filled with nonstop excitement as eager concert goers (camera phones in hand) got up close and personal with some of their favorite musicians including Akon. Other performers included Ludacris, Fall Out Boy, Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Dave Meyers Band, Smashing Pumpkins, The Police, Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow, and AFI all joining in to help raise awareness of the solutions to the global warming crisis.
Akon and Holly Robinson Peete host the annual Children's Holiday Bowl charity event at Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge on Sunday, Dec. 7TH
In partnership with Akon’s Konfidence Foundation, Holly Robinson Peete’s HollyRod4Kids Foundation, SRC Records, Upfront Megatainment, and Universal Motown, the toys collected from the celebrity toy drive event will be personally delivered by Akon to A Place Called Home, a non-profit youth center located in South Central Los Angeles.
Akon's Konfidence Foundation First Annual Toy Tour 2008
Hundreds of Holiday toys were hand delivered on Dec. 23rd by Aliaune "Akon" Thiam to multiple Boys and Girls Clubs in metro Atlanta. Akon took a day off from his album promotional tour to tour the the city spreading hope and a little KONFIDENCE to the youth engaged in BGCMA activities. After Akon presented each child with a gift, he taught a brief lesson in giving back. Akon went on to give the teenagers of the group all the remaining gifts and asked that they present them to a sibling or someone that they knew may not receive a gift otherwise.
