Akon Repairs Damaged Elementary School in Dakar, Senegal. "Believe In the Future of Africa!"
Over One Thousand text books were handed out to young students after their school was rebuilt by the wonderful people assisting Akon in Dakar, Senegal West Africa. Pictured to the left is Aliaune "Akon" Thiam, who is Chairman/Founder of Konfidence Foundation, helping to distribute some of the children's school supplies to the elementary schools' teachers after the construction had been completed. "Right now we are specifically focused on the Konfidence Foundation. For those who don't know what it is, Konfidence is an organization focused on raising the awareness and the confidence of our youth in Africa so that they can create a better future for the continent. What we're doing is we're having annual concerts to raise money to help rebuild schools, hospitals and to help rebuild Africa in general. I'm involving comedians, entertainers, actors and athletes to help get the job done. Africa is ten years behind on technology!
